Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

I am pleased to participate in the Carroll Center for the Blind’s Walk for Independence. Please join me in supporting the Carroll Center’s mission "to empower those who are blind and visually impaired to achieve independence and lead a fulfilling life".

I have received services from the Carroll Center since I was in elementary school. Their orientation and mobility instructors taught me to use my cane, and walk independently in school, around my neighborhood, at the train station, and in the office. For the past six summers, I have participated in the Carroll Center's SailBlind program. A sighted guide provides verbal directions to three-four sailors, who are blind, so we can navigate the Charles River in Boston. Not only does SailBlind provide the opportunity to learn sailing terminology, it also offers the chance for networking and making long-lasting friendships.

All the funds raised help make it possible for the Carroll Center to continue to serve individuals and allow them to gain or regain their independence.

Please join my team, attend the walk, donate to my page, or share my story. Thank you!

Timmy, I remember when you would practice with your cane around the neighborhood. It's always nice to see you still at it when I get to Mansfield. I'm proud to support the little boy I babysat long ago!Love, Mary Ann Tomase Folley
