On June 30th, I will standup paddle 21 miles from dam to dam on Lake Austin in honor of my brother, Coleman, who I lost to colorectal cancer on July 3, 2024. Coleman inspired me to challenge myself, embrace hard things, and rediscover the peace, love and grace of our Lord and Savior. His strength and love continue to guide me, and this journey is a tribute to him.
The paddle will be a challenge, imitating just a fraction of the pain and suffering Coleman endured with unwavering perseverance. I hope to honor his strength and spirit by embracing the challenge.
I’m participating in Dam That Cancer to support Flatwater, an organization that provides free mental health therapy to individuals and families affected by cancer—like mine. Since 2010, they’ve helped countless people find healing and strength through more than 74,000 therapy sessions. Their mission is a lifeline for so many navigating the emotional toll of cancer.
Please consider supporting Flatwater and helping me reach my fundraising goal. Every donation makes a difference in honoring those we love and providing hope to those still fighting.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Perry
