WE ALL LOVE THE PADRES AND KIDS. THIS CAMPAIGN BRINGS THEM TOGETHER.
LET'S GO FERNANDO!!
I'm a father. I'm lucky, blessed, fortunate. Let's begin there.
My daughter never had cancer when she was a child, God bless. But if she had been diagnosed with cancer, my stress, fear and anger would not have been compounded by worrying about how I would get her to her cancer treatments. I had a car. I would have had money for gas. I would have had money for snacks and treats. Like I said, I'm lucky, I'm blessed.
But we have neighbors, fellow parents, who are struggling. They might not have a car. If they don't have a car, they may have to take their immuno-compromised child on a bus or trolley. It's heartbreaking.
This is why Emilio Nares Foundation has really hit home for me. They step into this heartbreaking and unacceptable situation and transport kids and their parents to their cancer appointments. That's why I want to "Ride With Emilio."
And I'm going to use the most child-like player of all of the San Diego Padres - Fernando Tatis, Jr. - to hit it out of the park for the Emilio Nares Foundation.
THE MEANING OF 23
23 is a cool number. It is literally part of us with 23 chromosomal pairs embedded into our very code. It's also Fernando's jersey number. It's also ENF's 23rd Year!
So, I'm going to make a $23 DONATION every time Fernando:
HITS A HOMERUN
HITS A DOUBLE (encouraging him to hustle and stretch singles into doubles)
STEALS A BASE (encouraging him to steal time, hope and give it to the kids)
Consider joining me and do whatever you can. Even $1 can make a difference. Join me in saying thank you to Emilio Nares Foundation. Come Ride With Emilio.
