Welcome to our team page!
This fundraising team was founded by the daughters of Nancy Hessey, who has been sadly missed since we lost her two years ago due to Frontotemporal Degeneration. We are raising money and awareness so other families can get more of the help we are so grateful to have had ourselves.

Answers to the Monty Python Quiz:
1. The students were paid £2 each, but interestingly the ha’penny was still in use. Though it was last minted in 1967, it wasn’t demonetised and withdrawn from circulation until December 1984. So it’s possible they received their payment in ha’penny pieces, especially as the £2 coin did not yet exist.
2. The body collectors would wait until nightfall, to avoid causing an ugly spectacle in broad daylight; the scene was filmed by day, so they got that part wrong, but the rest was correct. Monty Python couldn’t afford a horse, but neither could the body collectors, as it was seen as a undignified job and therefore left for the poor.
3. Skipton Castle was not used. In fact, the crew had to film the entire thing at Doune Castle and Castle Stalker, using different angles to give the impression of many different castles as in the story; the reason being that the UK government withdrew the filming permits from all the other castles.
4. The knight in question is Sir Bedivere, but legend has it Sir Gareth and Sir Lionel were also knights of the Round Table.
5. The troupe would never use Americanisms such as “canned”. Terry Gilliam told The Guardian, in an anecdote from the filming of Brazil, that he had fought vehemently with John Cleese over the matter, which was never again discussed. If peaches had been on the menu, they would most certainly have been tinned.
6. Dire Straits were formed in 1977, two years after the Holy Grail was released. The investor missing off our list is Pink Floyd.
7. Silly Walks Tunnel exists. It’s in the Netherlands, and was inaugurated by John Cleese himself; Silly Walks App is available now for iPhone and Android; regrettably, Cleese declined to repeat his iconic performance for the live show at the O2 arena, reasoning that the only thing funny about the sketch was the brilliance of his original performance.
8. A ten foot mahogany statue was not a demand from the knights of Ni but from Reg and Stan, in What Have The Romans Ever Done For Us.
9. "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!" Is the the insult used here.
There was a hedgehog called Spiney Norman in the Piranha Brother’s sketch, and halibut is mentioned on multiple occasions, in The Life Of Brian as well as the Fish License sketch.
10. They did not acquire a pet rabbit, but they ended up wishing they had, after returning their hired rabbit stained with red dye and the altercations with the owner which ensued.
Bonus fact: Monty Python Star Terry Jones sadly died from Frontotemporal Degeneration. During the onset of his decline, he took it upon himself to advocate for the awareness of this overlooked area of the brain, so let’s continue his campaign!
