Our individual team members have combined digital forces to create this awesome fundraising team. Together we will raise more money for National Braille Press than we ever could alone! Our team leaders are Maggie Johnston and Mary Johnston. Here is Mary's story: 

As a young child I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa. This disease progressed to the point of total blindness. In 2nd grade, I was a struggeling reader who was very frustrated and actually somewhat depressed. A year later, my parents gave me the life changing opportunity to learn braille. Receiving the diagnosis and then the gift of braille completely changed my world. I have been an avid reader ever since.

When I had my first child in 1989 I discovered National Braille Press, specially their braille books for children. This outstanding organization has afforded me the opportunity to read to my children and now grandchildren. I enjoy reading to classes of young children and teach them about braille and blindness. National Braille Press is on the leading edge of technology and remains as relevant for braille readers today as it was in 1989.
