We are TEAM NEON. Welcome!

IN SEARCH OF AN EPIC ADVENTURE, WITH A SINCERE COMMITMENT TO BETTER THE LIVES OF FAMILIES' AFFECTED BY CYSTIC FIBROSIS GLOBALLY.

WE ARE: TEAM NEON

On the 25th June 2023, our team of four friends will embark on a long-distance endurance paddle-boarding challenge that’ll take us from Bimini in the Bahamas all the way back to the Florida mainland.

TEAM NEON is captained by Marc Cotterill who inspired some of his closest friends to complete the team: Craig Stanway, Peter Oakden, Dean Robertson and Ryan Talbot.

This challenge will be an epic eighty-mile journey that will see us set off in the pitch darkness of midnight, and where at the halfway point after approximately eight hours of paddling, we’ll be so far across the Gulf Stream we’ll find ourselves surrounded by nothing but ocean.

With no land in sight, and with no means of getting back to shore other than with a single paddle and our will to succeed, we attempt this challenge with two key aims:

  • Firstly, to support ‘Piper’s Angels Foundation’ in their mission to improve the lives of families in the cystic fibrosis community. From financial and mental health support to innovative life-expanding activities and programs.

  • Secondly, to assist an organisation called ‘Vertex Save Us’, who are campaigning for global access to the CF wonder drugs that recently saved team Captain Marc's life, rapidly transforming his health.

TEAM NEON member Dean also understands just how devastating CF is for families with children born with the condition. Dean’s 11-year-old nephew Zak was also born with CF, and Dean proudly dedicates his participation in the challenge to him, committing to do all he can to inspire Zak and further the fight against CF on his behalf.

Please follow our story and support our challenge, this only works with your kindness and generosity. Together, we can make a huge difference to close the gap and give all CFers the best chance possible.
