In Memory of Sarah and Bettie Parker.

In Memory of Sarah and Bettie Parker.

Join us, once again, as we Walk to Save Lives in support of the Indiana Donor Network's (IDN) mission to raise awareness for organ, tissue and eye transplantation.  We will also continue our tradition of walking in memory of our two angels, and prior transplant recipients, Sarah (Nicolson) Parker and Bettie Parker. It has been nearly three years since we've lost both beautiful souls, and will continue to honor them. We're all so very thankful for the organ donations they received and for the extended time we had with them.

Sarah (Nicolson) Parker was a double-organ transplant recipient, receiving a kidney-pancreas transplant in February 2015.  She was also a passionate advocate of the Indiana Donor Network, having organized the team 'Sarah's Squad' for many of the past IDN Walks. Unfortunately, Sarah was re-listed for another kidney transplant in 2019, and began dialysis treatments just a few months before her untimely passing.  Sarah's infectious smile, humor, grace and positive attitude are missed tremendously.  We will continue to honor her legacy in our continued support of IDN's mission.

Bettie Parker was a kidney transplant recipient in 2016. She was strong in her faith, often counseling and offering prayer to other dialysis patients during her five years of treatments.  Upon receiving a transplant, she continued to counsel, pray and advocate for those seeking life-saving donations.  After passing unexpectedly, she was able to give the gift of life via tissue donations through the Indiana Donor Network.  Bettie, like Sarah, never let her medical situation deter her and her positive spirit. Bettie is missed dearly by her family, friends, and church, and we will also continue to honor her legacy.

Please consider joining my team (especially, if you're in the Indianapolis area) or contributing to help us reach our fundraising goal! Please see below for the location and time of the walk - we hope you can help us in honoring our angels and contributing to Indiana Donor Network's mission!

Sarah, my ride or die, my sister from another mister, the peanut butter to my jelly, my guardian angel.. I can't say that my mind and heart will ever accept the fact that you're not here to share all of these moments with us. When those moments happen I break down an excruciating heartache that you're not next to me to celebrate. My heart truly aches to hear your voice, hear your laugh, get your advice, and share a glass of wine together. My life has ever forever changed and I'll never stop missing you.
