Looking for a meaningful way to acknowledge the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising? How about supporting Housing Works and their ongoing mission to end HIV/AIDS!
In September, I will be joining approximately 150 cyclists for 3 days on the Braking AIDS ride, a 300-mile bicycle journey from Cooperstown NY to NYC to raise money for Housing Works and to raise awareness around the fact that we have to tools to end the AIDS epidemic. But to do that, we have to continue to educate ourselves and build political will.
For nearly 30 years, Housing Works has been fearlessly fighting for funding and legislation to ensure that all people living with HIV/AIDS have access to quality housing, healthcare, life-sustaining services, as well as legal protections from stigma and discrimination. They also provide direct services such as primary care, housing, HIV prevention information, and job training. I believe that Housing Work's mission to end the dual crises of AIDS and homelessness is possible and I'm asking you to open your hearts and wallets to support their work.
Your donation to Housing Works will provide critical unrestricted funds to help Housing Works bring the fight against HIV/AIDS wherever it needs to go. Given the current political climate in DC, it is more important than ever that we support organizations like Housing Works and make sure that they have the funds they need to respond to the threats levied against our most vulnerable communities.
Please check out their webpage and help me support Housing Works by making a tax-deductible donation through this here webpage. The process is fast, easy and secure. The Braking AIDS ride is about raising both funds and awareness about the possibility of a world without AIDS, so please consider sending this page to anyone you think might be interested in supporting the cause or in learning more about the services provided by Housing Works.
