Welcome to our team page!
We are one of the oldest rowing programs in the State of CT, having continuously competed for the past 25 years. All are welcome. We reach a broad cross-section of the EO Smith population, from first-time high school athletes to state and national-caliber rowers who have aspirations to compete in college (and possibly beyond), and with over 65 rowers in the Spring, we are the second-largest sports program at EO Smith. The cost of equipment can run upwards of $10-15k for USED boats (fours and eights), $3k for eight used oars, and $1k for rowing machines, all not covered by the school. We work hard to fundraise to remain competitive in a state where many programs acquire brand new boat(s) yearly (costing upwards of $32-45k). We have participated in Savers used clothing and good drives, cans & bottle returns, leaf raking & clean-ups, restaurant events, and a pancake breakfast; our most significant fundraisers have been with the Panther Challenge and our Ergathon, where our students row continuously for 12 hours to raise money for our crew!
Thank you for your support! We couldn't do this without YOU!!
