About the Campaign
Be a part of the community effort to raise $250,000 to complete the B2B Trail connection into downtown Dexter, including the installation of the historic Bell Road Bridge over Mill Creek—creating a safe, scenic gateway into town. Thanks to a matching grant, every dollar donated will be doubled!
This project will directly benefit Dexter residents and businesses who are passionate about the B2B Trail and outdoor recreation. Connecting the B2B Trail directly into downtown Dexter will not only add to Dexter's already robust outdoor recreational opportunities, but also help drive economic development into local businesses downtown.
With your help, this segment from Parker Road on Dexter Chelsea Road into downtown Dexter will complete the easternmost connection of the Dexter to Chelsea corridor along the B2B Trail - and bring us within 1 mile of a fully connected, 6.5 mile corridor between Dexter and Chelsea. Excitingly, this project also includes a bridge over Mill Creek. The bridge for this crossing will be the historic Bell Road Bridge, which dates back to 1891 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is being removed from storage and refurbished for use on the B2B Trail.
As a peer-to-peer fundraising challenge, participants will reach out to friends, family, and colleagues to secure donations in support of the campaign. An anonymous foundation will match all donations dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000, doubling the impact of every contribution!
