About the 50-Mile Hike:
Celebrating 25 Incredible Years, Thousands of Miles,
Hundreds of Blisters, and Increasing Access to
Outdoor Programs for Youth

Each year over 150 people from all over New Jersey and beyond hike and dedicate their miles on the trail to raise money for Project U.S.E.'s powerful experiential programming. This year's hike marks 25 incredible years of this event, and we invite you to join us on the Appalachian Trail on May 3rd!

Can't make the event? No sweat - you can still sign up and choose to hit the trails wherever you are to help fundraise in support of our mission!

The money we raise will help us fund more adventure-based outdoor education programs for youth participants throughout New Jersey, including single and multi-day wilderness programming at our Wildcat Mountain Wilderness Center, community gardening programs, and outdoor expedition programs to locations like New Hampshire, West Virginia, and North Carolina.

Any supporters registering before February 15, 2025 for the 16.5-Mile and 50-Mile hikes will get discounted registration to participate in our 2025 Annual Hike Campaign. We ask each hiker to raise between $100 - $400 (depending on hike distance) in peer-to-peer fundraising. All funds raised will help us expand access to outdoor programs for the students who need it most!

Registration Info & Instructions

There is a small registration fee to hike to help cover event costs, but we encourage all hikers to fundraise leading up to the event. We help support your fundraising efforts by sharing a social media kit, helpful tips, and information about our matching donation programs which help every dollar that hikers raise create even more impact.
Each hiker's fundraising goal will be set at $100 - $400 depending on your hike distance, but many participants will raise significantly more to help us exceed our goal of $70,000. The hike is part of a great annual tradition with a growing community, and we'll have special Project U.S.E. swag and other prizes and incentives for dedicated fundraisers!
Participants can choose one of three hike options: 50 miles, 16.5 miles, or 6 miles. Check out the links below for more information about each hike.
All hikes will finish at High Point State Park.
There will be a BBQ reception and awards ceremony at High Point State Park at the end of the day for all participants. The events for the day will fully wrap up around 7:30 p.m.
