Hi, My name is Sage. I am 11 years old. My Dad (Basil Harris) used to do the Project U.S.E. 50-mile Hike every year along the Appalachian Trail with one of his best friends, Anthony.  I lost my Dad a few days after I turned 8 in 2021.  I will be doing the 6-mile youth hike with my Grandpa, Mom and best friends, Juliette & Lexi and their parents Emily & Jasen in memory of Basil Harris on Saturday, May 3rd at High Point, NJ.

It would mean a lot to me if you support me and Project U.S.E.  I know my Dad will help be there every step of the way with me.

“It warms my heart to see Sage Harris signed up for the 6 mile hike. I had the honor of knowing her father, Basil, since the age of 15.  I started the 50 Mile Hike in 2000, and from its inception, Basil was one of our biggest supporters.  When he first attempted to hike 50 miles, he reached the 26-mile mark before he succumbed to blisters and bruised feet.  This did not deter Basil from trying again.  For eight consecutive years, Basil kept coming back to hike, always getting a little further than the year before.  He was elated when he finally finished the entire 50 miles in 1 day.  Basil's perseverance and commitment to reaching his goals were a big part of his character.  I loved him a ton!  So grateful to have his daughter follow in his footsteps.”
