Averie was diagnosed with pelizaeus merzbacher like disease a type of Leukodystrophy. She is now almost 11 and is unable to stay in her current wheelchair. She needs one that reclines and these types do not fold or come apart, thus our need for a wheelchair accessible van. Averie is the happiest easiest going kid and takes everything in stride. She loves superheros and Star Wars and telling people all about Darth Vader! Her smile is contagious! Her happiness despite her disease drives us to continue to give her as many experiences as she is able to tolerate and a van would help her continue to be able to go places comfortably.
