Our team story begins with a tragic night in October of 2016 with the loss of my 23-year-old son, Joey.

         Joey and I talked briefly about organ donation not too long before his accident. He was always a caring individual who liked to help people who were going through dire circumstances. The gift of his organs was an extension of what he did in his life.

         One of Joey’s favorite quotes was from James Dean:

               “If a man can bridge the gap between life and death, if he can live on after he’s dead, then                     maybe he was a good man.”

         Our team believes that through his organ donation, Joey has truly bridged that gap.

         As Joey’s father, his organ donation has made me a very proud Dad beyond his life here on earth. His donation has shown us the importance of organ donation and its effects on others. Through his gift of life and love, Joey has shown us, and others, the importance and criticality of organ donation. Our profound loss has been a profound revelation to others.

         Thank you, Joey, for being a great man by selflessly giving of yourself to others.
